The Traces of the Trade team collaborated closely with P.O.V. to create a discussion guide, a facilitator’s guide, and curriculum materials for teachers. The guides include some historical background, resources for further learning, tips for facilitators, and, of course, a collection of questions and observations designed to provoke conversation about the film and issues of race, equality, and repair in the U.S. These materials are free to download and we encourage you to use them in any setting.

On the right are links to the discussion guides, as well as essays offering some reflections on using the film in various settings with different audiences. These essays speak to the emotional complexities that may arise and we urge you to consider these observations as you plan a dialogue for your community. P.O.V. also offers additional materials on their web site.
